Bobby Labonte
Racing Prepares for Pair of Series Events
Brad Neat and Earl Pearson Jr. Look to Gain Points in Championship
Archdale, N.C. (June 2, 2010) - Bobby Labonte Racing (BLR)
will travel to Tazewell Speedway in Tazewell (Tenn.) for the
Toyota of Knoxville 75 on Friday, June 4 and to Florence Speedway
in Union (Ky.) for the 24th Annual Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt
Series Ralph Latham Memorial on Saturday, June 5. Both races
will have a $10,000 purse.
Both Tazewell and Florence Speedway are known for their high-banked
corners. Tazewell is one of the fastest tracks in the country
and is popular for its side-by-side action. This race continues
to be a favorite of series regulars and has been on the schedule
since the inception of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series.
"The Hurricane" Earl Pearson Jr. is looking to rebound
this weekend from some disappointing results in Missouri and
Illinois. Despite poor finishes last weekend, the No. 44 Lucas
Oil Dodge Charger has had a great season thus far including
two series wins. Pearson is still currently third in championship
points, just 70 points out of second.
Brad Neat, "The Bluegrass Bullet" is excited to race
in his home state of Kentucky. After a top-five finish and a
top-10 finish at Tri-City and Lucas Oil Speedway this past weekend,
the spirits of the No. 41 Red Buck Filtered Cigars Chevrolet
team is high. Neat moved up three spots in the championship
point standings to 14th.
Team Manager Jason Fitzgerald Comments on Last Week's
performance and This Weekend's Events:
"It's great to see Brad and the Red Buck team back on track
and collecting some great finishes. We are happy to see them
get some strong, consistent runs. The past two weeks have seen
those guys earn some nice results and they are definitely heading
in the right direction.
"Earl had a good qualifying start at Wheatland, but he
got shuffled to the back at the end of the race. We would like
to be closer to the top of the championship standings than we
are, but only being out 140 points, isn't too bad right now.
It is certainly within reach, and hopefully with our 'summer
luck' we will be able to get Earl to the top.
"We are looking forward to Tazewell Speedway this Friday.
This is a really exciting track and a great show for the fans.
This track has a lot of tight, close racing. So we will have
to be sure to be patient and attentive. It's also nice to be
close to home after two weeks traveling on the road.
"Saturday we'll be racing in Kentucky, which is a great
homecoming for Brad. After his results these past two weeks,
we expect that he is going to put on a good show for his home
state. Florence Speedway is a great track for both Brad and
Earl. They have had good results here, both finished in the
top-five in last year's event. Hopefully we'll be able help
one another to get a one-two finish.
